God is righteous and his righteousness requires that sin be judged and held accountable. God knew that his creation was imperfect and could not live up to the righteousness of the law but God loved us anyway. So God himself provided a way for us. god came to the world and overcame sin and was tortured and killed in our place that we might recieve the atonement he provided through Jesus Christ who is God with us Imanuel.

Good question. More to the point still: If God forbids human sacrifice in the Old Testament, then why does he insist on a human sacrifice in the form of Jesus?

If Jesus was God, as many Christians say, then when he died, didn't God commit suicide? And, knowing that there was going to be a resurrection three days later, isn't it kind of a gyp? God messing with our heads a little? What's the point of that?

It's like the whole Revelations thing. Why does the BibleGod need all that d-r-a-m-a? Dragons and floating harlots and all that. He can't just say, "Nah, I'm done, wrap it up." Nope, he's gotta have DRAMA and stand up on a podium and yell "YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE IN ME NOW YOU GO TO THE LAKE OF FIRE!" like some kind of deranged high school principal. Then he has to have all these angels and "believers" to massage his ego for eternity and tell him how great he is. Forever.

I can't find it in myself to believe in a deity who messes with people's minds like that. That's not a god worth worshiping.

It would have been very easy for Jehovah God, Psalms 83:18, to erase Adam and Eve and start over BUT that would not have proved his universal sovereignty. There would still be the chance that some of his ohter spirit creatures would have followed suite after Satan. With God giving his son it shows it ALMIGHTY love for us. And personally, I am thankful because without that we would not be here today.

God is giving Satan and humans a chance to see if they can run this world better than he can... how is mankind doing so far? Wars, famine, disease....? So in the end God will have proved his power and there will be an unending peace.

Ans only through Jesus will that peace be brought about.

Blood atonement salvation is only one salvation theory - and yes, despite what anyone will say, any Biblical scholar or theologian will call them theories.

Blood atonement has a number of flaws, one being the problem of omnipotence and omniscience. Another being that it tends to make God look blood thirsty.

Personally I believe in Moral Influence theroy - God's love is so great for creation that God entered into creation through the life of Jesus. God showed the depth of absolute unconditional love by facing the pain and suffering of the cross. Through the example of Jesus' sacrafice, we are called to equally show love in the world.

We were made in his image, we however didn't know good and evil.

Once we allowed sin to enter our lives we began dying. There was no death before that.

He gave his son to forgive us as a sacrifice so we would be able to go back to what was originally intended rather than be destroyed.

We now can have everlasting life in eternity with him and Satan is now only able to take the loved ones that choose to not listen. Free will . . .. . . . . . Satan was out to destroy us because God loved us so much and was almost successful.

Jesus is our savior, accept him in your heart and you can ask your maker these questions one day.

He is all powerful and all knowing, He is also perfect and free of sin, He cannot be around it. He is too pure. We, as sinners, would die in His presence. So sending His son made us perfect in His eyes, because our sins are wiped clean. He did it so that He could be with us. He did it because He loves us so much, He wants as many of His children to come home as they can.

i think the better question to ask is, if G-d hates human sacrifices, why would he send his own son to be a human sacrifice? look, apparently G-d thinks human sacrifice is a whoredom:

Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter? [Ezekiel 16:20]

i guess he changed his mind...

Because we are completely contaminated by our own sins that we are not even worthy to speak to God. By Him offering us a pure unblemished thing as atonement for our sin, it bridges the gap and makes it possible for us to stand before God pure.
