I am going to Rome in a year and a half, and i was wondering approx. how long the flight is? I've only ever been on one plane before and it was only 3 hours long.

10 hours 15 minutes, 5,583 statute miles. You can get any flight time and distance estimates at: http://www.jets.com/ then click on "obtain an estimate"

All depends from where you are leaving. If you are leaving from a place near or on the east coast (Atlanta, JFK, Newark, Chicago, Orlando, Baltimore, etc.,) the flight is approximately eight and a half to nine hours long. If you are leaving from a place in the west coast (Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, etc.) You will fly for approximately 10-12 hours. Be sure to take enough books to read, to take an ipod or a portable dvd-player, to have enough sleep during the flight, to drink water at least once every two hours, and to trake a walk at least one every three hours. Also ask for an upgrade in the check-in counter, if you are flying in a tranquile season.

that would depend on where you are flying from...

OK, ex YVR: AC takes 17 hours via Toronto

Lufthansa takes 13hr 50 min via Frankfurt

so....take a good book (or two)
