If your breast feeding it's very important you keep on eating, and even if you're not, to keep your strength up. Have lots of quick and easy snacks close by (granola bars were my best friend), you'll slowly get your appetite back. In the meantime you can drink some ENSURE to help with the caloric intake.

I was the same way after both my boys were born.
Lack of appetite combined with being busy meeting the demands of a newborn can lead to not eating.
While you may lose some weight at first, your body will eventually go into starvation mode and start storing what you do eat as fat.You may not actually gain weight but you won't lose it either.
When you sit down to feed/nurse the baby, be sure to have a snack beside you. This can be some trail mix, crackers and cheese, fruit, veggies and dip, yogourt, a sandwich, omelet, etc.. Add a glass of juice, milk or water and over the course of the day you should be able to meet some of your nutritional needs. Even if you don't feel hungry, you'll probably start nibbling at it if it's sitting next to you for 20 minutes or so.
I hope this helps and congrats on your new daughter!!

You need to eat balanced meals especially if you just had your baby and more importantly if you are breastfeeding. The lose of appetite can be a sign of depression, which is normal after you have a baby. Try to eat six small healthy meals a day to try and increase your appetite. If you starve yourself, you will gain the weight back twice as much if you start eating again and if you become pregnant again.

I know that I had no appetite and I was breast feeding. My hubby got me things that I normally liked to eat (choco chip granola bars, RITZ crackers, etc) and just kept them on hand. I would eat every few hours, even if I just nibbled. Do not go w/the punches (whether you bottle or breast) but do not worry over it. Just make sure to eat something. Try to eat something on your old schedule or when your family does. For example, while I was prego I had to eat every 4-5 hours and so this is the pattern I kept till I had an appetite again.

It's probably a little loss of appetite as well as being busy with a newborn that's causing you to forget to eat. It's pretty normal.
Try to have some snacks laying around all day. Keep them out on the counter so when you see them it will remind you to grab something to eat. You don't have to eat in large meals either. Having something small here and there would be just as good if you're not very hungry at the time.

You havent mentioned if you are nursing. If you are, eat healthy, but eat. Regularly. Dont stuff, if you dont feel hungry, but eat.
If you arent nursing, you can eat a bit less and let your body guide you - but still eat (small if you want, but) balanced meals at least twice a day. Maybe have a vitamin/protien shake for the other meal, so at least you get some balanced stuff.

nope , ya need food
if I was there, I would say, what would you like, and I would make it for you. Pretty much anything, Every night. Would depend on money a little but I think I could be flexible and creative and thrifty and get 80% of what you want anyway.
Not sure about baby fat since I never had any kids and probably won't.

that is so normal, as you are probably too exhausted to even think about eating. if you are nursing, it is very important to keep eating. you need even more calories to nurse than you do when you are pregnant. when i first had my son i had the same issue, and i jut made a point to have a small snack every time my son ate. you do need to eat, as you need energy now more than ever!
