I'd take a look at http://www.crazyboards.org. There's a parenting section and a bipolar section there. I'm personally bipolar and no great fan of that diagnosis in teenagers, let alone kids as young as 6, but that's just me.

You've probably already done this, but if not...get your hands on the book The Bipolar Child. They list various resources at the end and the book itself is almost a must for the parents of a child with BP. Right now I am reading If Your Child Is Bipolar. I took it out of the library after reading rave reviews of it on amazon.com. It's good...definitely another resource you might want to try.

I am sure there are online support groups specifically for this, just not sure where. The groups I belong to are all through yahoogroups.com.

I am BP, my 11 year old they can't quite pinpoint what is going on with him. ADHD, bipolar, Asperger's, ODD - some combination of some or all of the above...it's a very difficult job to parent a child with these kind of special needs.

I raised a bipolar child and I know how hard it is for everyone involved.... I would call my mental health clinic to find out when and where the support groups are. What worked for us cause we are from a small town was our family network... We have a very tight family always there for each other.... which help my son in his younger years now he is 26 he lives on his own (still Bi-polar) but he is living a pretty normal life and still have us incase he needs us....
