We use "reindeer food" every year. We put a little bird seed in a baggie with glitter. The glitter is the "magic dust" that gives reindeer their ability to fly. As for the poem, I'm sorry to say that I lost it years ago. We just make a big deal out of sprinkling the "reindeer food" on the snow. Make sure you cover it up before morning or they will think that the reindeer didn't eat at their house.

Another crafty idea that we used for our Cub Scout pack is to spread peanut butter on a pine cone & sprinkle with bird seed. You put this out for the birds in the winter as a high protein treat.

Pour about 1/8 cup of oatmeal in snack-size baggie. Add some glitter. Close baggie.

Attach with ribbon (or glue) to the front of the baggie the following message ( I usually put a picture of Rudolph at top of message):

On Christmas Eve, sprinkle this wonderful Reindeer Food on your lawn or on the entrance to your apartment. The shiny glitter will sparkle in the moonlight and the smell of oats will guide Rudolph to your home.
