stuff that doesn't put bad stuff on your computer (like Limewire does, making it crash, run slower, not function properly, etc,)

I can assure you LimeWire doesn't crash intentionally, you should probably upgrade.
I have LimeWire and it's the best ever!!
I'm a programmer, and nothing in LimeWire is malicious, make sure you didn't download the program anywhere else but limewire.com...and yes I've made trojans and viruses before so I know what I'm talking about.

But for other peer-to-peer programs, try iMesh, SoulSeek or FrostWire..

There are loads really..go here for a list of programs (verified by wikipedia):

Hope this helps.

Try bittorrent. It has a bit of an advantage when it comes to not getting all those mp3's with the crackling sound and electronic shrieking. It's really good for getting whole albums at a time, whereas I would use winMX if I wanted to download songs from several different artists...
