If you're going to be married, you better learn to compromise now. In the end, is it really that big of deal? If it means that much to him to have a ceremony, it would be nice to accommodate him and make him happy.

Why not go to a courthouse with a few friends and/or family? That's nearly as quick as Vegas wedding, which seems to be what you want. Just make sure your paperwork is in order before hand, and see what can be done to cut time waiting. Then you all can pile into the car and enjoy a small reception with a slightly larger group?

why not merge both ideas? vegas has package deals for weddings for under a grand you get the chapel get your hair done the cakd and pics all the stuff of a normal wedding. you can invite the closest of your friends and family. you can get rather cheap tickets and hotels through places like hotwire.com some hotels will even give you package deals if you get married in their 'chapel' it would be a blast for everyone! i know someone who was recently a bridesmaid at one of those weddings. some packages even offer limo escort. so you get what you both want small initimate quick, dinner afterwards and vegas!!

Compromise! My husband wanted a, (yes, seriously, get this), hockey themed wedding. We compromised and our wedding colors were that of his favorite hockey team. We went to Canada (the motherland to hockey) on our honeymoon - Toronto for a day at, (you guessed it) the Hockey Hall of Fame and then to Niagara falls.
We compromised; we both got what we wanted and it was the best day and vacation we have ever had!!

They both sound about the same to me. I wanted a wedding with 10 people at it. His mom wanted to invite everyone she met in the first 57 years of her life.

wedding vowles? don't you mean vows? there are all kinds of wedding vows. it all depends on the religion you are or the church you get married in. you could even write your own vows. sometimes that is more personal. but for me, i went with the traditional vows.
