were simply cut by whatever amount of money they cannot account for spending? Why should the gov't (and it's contractors, etc) be entitled to over 25% of my paycheck?

I'm not opposed to the gov't having 25% of my check when the $$ is well spent, but I like your idea of cutting the budget by whatever they can't show a receipt for! It would probably just lead to them inflating visible expenses in order to divert $$ though.

9/11 would be like a walk in the park, we woould not be able to keep the terrorists at bay, and you would be a conscript (draft) making $500 a month for 4 years. Or we could just sell your sorry behind to pay the bills that would not get payed.

Exactly how much money cannot be accounted for?

My brother in law worked for the Defense Audit Agency - he said that we spend 3x more looking for and preventing fraud than we would lose through fraud if we disbanded the redundant audit requirements.

If that happened, major Corporations would have to sell at a much lower profit margin ( down from several thousand percent) and their stockholders would suffer.

And the military industrial complex gets about a third of your taxes, BTW.
