--I have been asking honest questions about God and the Bible, and I can't believe how many of these people try to turn and twist the truth to make it fit what they so want to believe.

You can tell they really want to profit simply by "believing",and they're willing to do or say anything to hold on no matter how ridiculas it becomes.

Alythereh---I woul be willing to bet that I have studied the Bible much more than you have. But I did it honestly w/o wanting to profit simply for believing what I read.
Instead of investigating that book, you should investigate your TRUE motives for believing in such childish stories.

Gladiator---I ask because I just can't believe that mature adults could buy into these childish stories.

Actually I care more about these Theists than they seem to care about themselves.
I'm not willing to believe they are that immature.

Welcome to the great dilemma within most religions, and most politics! The problem with most religious institutions is the belief that they are the only ones who are right and therefore have God's favor, that what they believe is the absolute truth! Well, that is about as intellectually dishonest as you can get. But it is a phenomena that occurs in large groups of people, a person's need to belong to a group begins to have more importance than why the group came together in the first place. In other words, the meaning gets lost and replaced with something less than what was intended for the sake of the group's survival instead of it's contents or beliefs!
Do you have to be dishonest to be religious? No, anymore than you have to be religious to seek truth and understanding. Truth does not seek or require ownership! We both know that 2+2=4, but which one of us owns it? Neither of us! Could you claim that this equation is your's and your's alone? Well, you could, but you would have to somehow convince a whole lot of people that you had something to do with the fact that it is true. The only way you can do that is by being intellectually dishonest! Too bad most religions cannot see how this little example demonstrates their greatest fault! Remember, truth is for the taking and for the sharing, but NEVER for the owning! You don't own it, but you can seek it and, more importantly, share it!

Stop asking questions and read what God has to say about Himself. Why do non-believers want answers from humans. If I was interested in Scientology I would read Dianetics by the founder L. Ron Hubbard (I think that is his name) anyway ask the author (pray) of the book and read it.

A lot of people don't know that they are being dishonest because they are brainwashed by a cult. Any christian religion that adds/removes things from the bible or changes their meaning is a cult.

I don't consider myself to be dishonest, but the book of Job states that man is a liar. Perhaps lying to his own self?
