I was adding firewood to the fire and touched a finger to the grate. I checked the first aid kit but I don't have anything. Is there anything around the house I can use? Also it is kind of looks "juicy" looking now. It almosis that normal?

Yes, shaving cream, put it on the burn for about an hour, I swear it works. DO NOT USE BUTTER OR TOOTHPASTE!!!! You'll get a darn infection.

If there is a blister on it, puss coming from it, or if the skin is any color other than normal or red then you should go to an emergency room now. There is a very VERY high risk of infection in burns and even a minor burn that gets infected could be fatal. If the skin is just red then wrap ice in something and keep it on your finger. This should help the pain. Take some advil or tylenol for the pain as well. If you even think it may get infected see a doctor to get it looked at and you should probably get antibiotics for it as well.

First thing to do is to cool the Burn...use ice wrapped in a face cloth.

After the pain has subsided, use a topical burn ointment or Aloe from fruits. In a day or so, the blisters will be reduced.

Infection to the burned skin is a possibility. So, keep that area clean.

Run it under cool water. Don't pop the blister, and see a doctor if it seems to be getting infected. For the moment if you don't have burn cream, there's not much you can do. Don't put butter on it; butter will lock in heat and make things worse. Don't bandage it unless a blister has broken and is oozing. Otherwise, you want it unencumbered and exposed to the air to heal faster.

Put ice wrapped in a towel or washcloth on it, or keep it in some cold water for awhile. Do not use butter or any of the other crazy things mentioned above on it, and do not pop any blisters that form. Just ice it and maybe put some aloe on it after you've iced it for quite some time.

Don't use butter or any other kind of grease...it will make the burn worse!!! Put a little mustard on the burn and let it dry...it takes the sting out and reduces swelling so you are less likely to form a blister. I know it sounds crazy, but that's all we used at the restaurant I used to work at.

Hi, It seems that you are getting distressed with how slowly your dog training is going. I have a friend was going through the same problems and she followed the Dog Training Academy Course and has now got a fully trained dog and a happy household in a few weeks.

get a cloth and wet it with cold water and gently rest it the burn. Or you can get a bag of ice and wrap a cloth around it but wetting the cloth will be better. I'm so sorry that somebody got a burn.

Bandage it loosely with gauze, let the air circulate around it. If you have neosporin, apply a thin layer to help keep infection out. If it starts looking green, you may want a doctor to check it as infection has set in.

Ice will relieve the pain and take any swelling away. if it blisters or the pain does not go away in a day or two go to a emergency walk in as it may be a severe burn.
