Maybe he just needs to keep reminding himself because he is insecure. He may need you to tell him, I know that sounds nuts but my boyfriend needs to be told, he compliments me all the time, almost to an embarrassing level (like to his mom who hates me-ha). But when I tell him he is sexy he is like a fat rat with cheese!!! I had an ex that did that but that was because some woman had told him and I never did, he ended up marrying her (lasted 30 days).
If you love him and his only bad point is loving himself to death you may be okay.

If he is a 'self centered jerk', than why are you still going out with him? Relationships aren't all about him, and you shouldn't stay. You may love him, but no matter what he says, he doesn't love you more than he loves himself, and that's wrong.

If you at all think negatively the first thing you should do is confront your conscience and ask yourself do I really need to stay with this person? If you think that you are having troubles in any way then you should move on and find someone who cares for you as much as you care for them.

well me personally i know how you feel, well have you tried to make him realize that if he keeps this up you are gone .if you mean alot to him hell change not because you want him to but for the better.if he doesn't their are a whole world full of men that will treat you better.let him know what hes not willing to do someone will.
