If your audience lacks a humble heart (teachable) then to point out defects is a waste of time. These unteachable ones pursue their thoughts for psychological reasons such as fear. To deal with the inner isue like that takes time and developing report and they must desire to get out of the rut they are in. Pretty much have to know them in real space, and hard times.

Generally, I agree with you. But when the weak and poor are being opressed, we have a responsibility to speak up and fight it.
When Jesus attacked the crooks in the temple, he didn't just "live and let live".
How much evil would be done if people never spoke up?
How much evil would be avoided if people spoke up more?
But when it is just a matter of things that annoy us, then I agree, "live and let live".

Yes, some people just won't understand - so its better for all to just talk about other things.

I moved out of my parents house 17 years ago, and two months ago my mother tried to get me to go to mass. I just politely told her that unless she wanted to hear about my very strong opinion at length and in detail, she shoud not go there. She actually thought for a second, agreed, and changed the subject!
