Well she is a very immature person. Did she always get her way growing up by acting this way? When she got into trouble was she ever punished for it in a way that made her change? I don't think there is anything wrong with your sister except that she is very immature and very self centered.
You, as her sister need to just walk away from her and not even talk to her when she is being this way. You be the more mature person and don't even give that kind of stupid behavior the time of day. I mean literally refuse to deal with her when she is acting like this. Adults should not behave this way and you will notice that most of them do not.

Sounds like nobody has put a stop to it!!
You said she does it to get her way, so basically you answered your own question. If she did it when there was no motive then maybe you could check into a mental condition. But sense she has a motive she is just used to people giving into her becuase they know she will act like this if she does not get her own way. Theropy may help, but I think the technical term for your sister would be "Conduct Disorder" which is another form of "ODD". Your sister sounds like that she does not know any other way to cope with not getting her way.

I'm not a doctor, but I can tell you that people do what works for them.
Next time she throws a temper tantrum, leave the room, leave the house if you need to. If she cries, tell her to go to her room until she's done because it is annoying.
You can also ask her during one of her tirades that famous Dr. Phil question "how's that working for you?"

It's normal if you are a spoiled brat, ya:) Just because she's your sister doesnt mean you need to be 'friends' I would just distance myself from her negativeity, if she asks why, tell her you cant handle to fits & you deserve to be treated just as well as her and dont deserve to have tantrums being thrown constantly.... Good luck! Keep breathing things will change, remain calm- i know it's hard..... breathe......

When she was little and did it, people would give in to her to shut her up. Since this has always worked for her, she's never had to change her behavior. Whenever she does it, everyone needs to leave the house and not give her an audience.
