Make sure your condoms are fresh--check the expiration date. Throw away condoms that have expired, been very hot, been carried around in your wallet, or been washed in the washer. If you think the condom might not be good, get a new one. You and your partner are worth it.

Open the package carefully, so you don't rip the condom. Be careful if you use your teeth.

Put on the condom after the penis is erect and before it touches any part of a partner's body. If a penis is uncircumcised, the person must pull back the foreskin before putting on the condom.

Make sure the condom is right-side out. It's like a sock--there's a right side and a wrong side. First, unroll it about half an inch to see which direction it is unrolling. Then hold the tip of the condom between your fingers as you roll it all the way down the shaft of the penis from head to base. This keeps air bubbles out that can cause the condom to break. It also leaves a space for semen to collect after ejaculation.

Put lubricant on after you put on the condom, not before--it could slip off. Add more lube often. Dry condoms break more easily.

Withdraw the penis immediately after ejaculation, while the penis is still erect; grasp the rim of the condom between your fingers and slowly withdraw the penis (with the condom still on) so that no semen is spilled.

Throw out the used condom right away. Use a condom only once. Never use the same condom for vaginal and anal intercourse. Never use a condom that has been used by someone else

First good for u feeling comfortable to ask! No matter what ur age... some of the responces r just rude. So I'm sorry they feel the need to joke.

If u preteen, teenager age... then u can go to your local health dept for information from a professional nurse who will tell u about pregnancy prevention. Most states in the middle school era will offer classes with your parents permission. But even your local library has material on this subject.

U have been given good information- a couple did tell u to allow a gap for the semen to collect in the tip. Be sure the male holds onto the condom as he withdrawals from you. It's important.! Do not throw in commodes, place in tissue and throw in the trash. Use a new condom each time u have intercourse.

For what it's worth, I hope u realize how special u are. Having sex doesn't make u mature, nor an adult. Once u start on the sexual road it's very hard to abstain. Wait and be emotionally ready. Don't do it becuase it's the cool thing. Boys and men will tell a girl whatever they want to hear to get into your pants. Just be smart when U R READY for those pants to come off. Good luck

A condom is used to prevent the exchange or bodily fluids during intercouse. Condoms come in severa different material with the most common being latex. If you have a latex allergy, they are also made of polyuethane and lambskin, prices rising respectively.

To use the condom, tear open one side of the indiviual wrapped condom. Examine the condom, you will see it is rolled in one direction. You will be able to see one side has and "indention" and the other not so much. Place the side without the the "indention" on the penis and push the outer ring downward all the way to the base of the penis. Make sure to leave a small pocket or resivour at the tip for the sperm collection. The condom should not be pulled tight around the head of the penis. This can cause the condom to burst during intercourse or ejaculation.

Now, like other have said, if you are asking you may be a little young for intercourse or might not be fully prepared to handle the emotional impact of such. However, it is good that you are asking how to keep yourself safe if you do choose to participate in sexual intercourse.

JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE !YOUR GOING TO GET THIS CHILD PREGNANT AND POSSIBLY AN STD!!! YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES...
Brit, please understand that i urge you to think twice about engaging into any sexual activity at a young age.. i even recommend you go to planned parenthood or whatever its called and ask them... they can actually show u show you how its done.
to safely put a condom on, u must first make sure its the right side (ull be able to unroll it).. place the rolled condom on an erect banana (Yes u should practice first) make sure u dont rip it with ur nails or rings or other objects specially when opening the sharp aluminium package it comes in.. most condoms come with a reservoir, pinch the reservoir and place the condom on ur banana, slowly unroll it along the banana let go of the tip... the reservoir at the tip MUST NOT have air in it... Please know this, condoms BREAK very frequently and can result in pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.. some of those such as herpes or genital warts can be transmitted EVEN WITH a properly used condom.. herpes NEVER goes away, and warts need to be either burnt off or frozen off with liquid nitrogen, both of these will require you going to the doctors and are painful, not to mention losing most of ur childhood to pregnancy... My point is, before you engage in any form of sexual activity, i think it best that you consult with medical experts or ur parents, they can guide you better than i or anyone else on yahoo! answers. AND NO MATTER WHAT, if you decide to go on with this, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a condom to reduce the risk of pregnancy and other STD..and ALWAYS use a condom from start to finish, his snake MUST NOT come near your 'flower basket'!
your young, and you dont want to be a mother just yet and definatly dont want to catch a disease. diseases almost always have no symptoms so looking at ur partners penis DOES NOT HELP in determining whether he is clean or not. this is ur life, true life is short, but its long enough for you to hold out longer. I can garantee that you will most likely regret ur decision at such an early age. i cannot stress the importance of seeing a professional. PS: if u put the condom the wrong way on,(ie u cant unroll it) throw it away and use another one... another thing, a person does NOT need to ejaculate to get you pregnant or give u an STD (sexually transmitted disease), and u can get either from ur first time (ie even if ur a virgin)...
Be careful and i urge you wait longer..
be safe, stay safe

First, open with your teeth, make sure you bite down HARD in the centre and tear awat from you. Place on the knob of your weewee and unroll. If you don't see the bar code at the very bottom it is too big and you need a smaller size. Put multiple condoms on to avoid chafing and breakage. Make sure you store them somewhere safe, like the freezer. Good luck little dude!

Seriously?
GIRL! You need to get a package of condoms (cheap ones to trash them). Get a Banana and read the directions and practice.
You need to master this process, before you use it on a human.
Never reuse them and always YOU use a spermicide.
You need to carry at least three of them with you. You never know when you will need them.

Make sure the man's penis is erect. Open the foil package. Roll it tip side up unto his penis and squeeze all the remaining air out the top. Proceed to have sex. When he cums, make him pull it out before he gets soft or some semen might spill outside.
