Use Head and Shoulders Dry Scalp shampoo, don't get the one with shampoo + conditioner. Never use a shampoo + conditioner it will dry your hair out and its not healthy for your hair.

HI! I wanted to let you know that first of all, dandruff is a disease. It is a condition of the scalp, it is not something that can merely go away. Dandruff has a yellow, grayish tinge to it, it is oily, sticky feeling.
It is possible that you merely have dry scalp. Constantly finding tons of flakes on your shirt? In your comb or brush? Chances are, it's dry scalp. To remedy this, you need to pick up some shampoo and conditioner that has tea tree oil in it - ex. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo & Conditioner. Excellent product for dry scalp. You do not want to use it every single day. At the most, use it every other day for the first week or two, for each additional week, drop a day..... see below.
1st & 2nd week - use every other day, while using general shampoo as well. Mon - tea tree, Tues - General shampoo, Wed - Tea tree, so on and so forth.
3rd week - use 3 times p/ week
4th week & future weeks - use 2 times p/week
At the end of the 4th week, your dry scalp will be completely managable. You will see a noticable difference in the amounth of flakes by the end of the 2nd week.
As a hairstylist, I can tell you, dandruff is often mistaken for dry scalp. If you truly think you have dandruff, see your physician for a proper diagnosis.
Selsum Blue, Head & shoulders, & the other OTC Dandruff shampoos will make dry scalp worse.
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner is one that we also suggest for people w/ psoriasis of the scalp. Trust me on this.
If you are skeptical, call your hairstylist, they can point you in the correct direction. I hope this helps.

My husband's dandruff is caused by stress. What worked for him was an oil treatment at least once a week.
Warm olive oil ( about 4 TBL) and massage into your scalp. Wrap in a warm towel and leave in as long as possible before shampooing. It may take more than one shampoo to remove the oil.
It is recommended to leave on overnight with a shower cap, but
it could certainly ruin a pillow!

Selson Blue shampoo works really well. Use it and because it smells bad use your regular shampoo and a good deep conditioner. Massage the conditioner into your scalp. Also, try not to wash your hair everyday because that will dry your hair out and it takes out the natural oils in your head.
