Phoenix is phoenix in Latin - the exact same as English. It would not be Greek, either, because Greek would have a ph spelling just like the Latin - there is no F in Greek. I did an internet search on the word, and it mostly comes up on websites with a dk suffix - Denmark, maybe?

There are alot of similar words.

One of the common ones includes Fennex,.. which I can't even spell correctly and people get into debates about. They are Tiny Foxes with giant ears.

I hate Wiki these days but, it will hopefully give you some pictures and basic details.
