hello, my friend typed this phrase to me but wouldnt tell me what it meant, id really appreciate it if someone could enlighten me:
ni hao wau shi megouren
i apologize that i don't have symbols but i really dont have the faintest clue what the 'wau shi megouren' part means, i know that ni hao mean hello but thats about it.
maybe substitute 'wau' with 'wo'??

I think you mean 'Ni hao, wo shi mei guo ren'.
Ni hao: hello
Wo: me
Mei guo: America
Ren: person
Translated, it means 'Hello, I am an American.'

ni hao- means hi or hello.
wo shi mei guo ren- i am an American or I am a citizen of America.

shi = am
meiguo = America
ren = person
meiguoren - American

It is not Mandarin but I think it is a Chinese dialect though I don't which one.
From what I can understand it means hi, I am American. 你好我是美国人 nihao wo shi meiguoren

Wow, is your friend trying to show off, but not succeeding? This is easy. Tell him that he needs to add spaces and got 'wau' wrong. You might want to tell him that "This is relly obvious."
