Nowadays, for Buddhist monks who live in the city area, they live in the rooms in the temples or in a separate building in the temple area. If they live in rural areas, they live in small huts called kuti that are built around the monasteries ground. When they visit different areas that have no temple or monastery around, they'll stay in 1 of the devotees' house. Oh, some monks also live in caves.

There are many types of Buddhist monk.Some follow the forest tradition.These monks are very strict with themselves.Live very simple in small spartan hut called kutis.
There are monks that live in big beautiful very comfortable monasteries.So there you are.
