Voodoo as it is spelled refers to the religion that is practiced in New Orleans. The NO religion incorporates the use of local saints, orisha and lwa. It is also used Hoodoo as the magical system. My knowledge of Voodoo is limited as I only know what I am told by those that practice. The true practices are kept hidden.

Vodou is the Haitian based religion. It is practiced differently then NO Voodoo. Only the lwa are petitioned. We honor our ancestors and praise Bondye (God). Here is a website for the house I belong to. The articles written by Mambo Yves Zo explain the ancestors, regleman, holidays, and some lwa. http://www.sosyetedumarche.com/Vodou_Info/vodou_info.html

Hope this helps.

Same demonic spirit source behind it so there is no difference. Hope this helps! Don't play on the devil's territory. He plays for keeps. He may promise you wealth, fame, and happiness but his real intentions are to steal, kill and destroy and he would love to take your life. Give it to the precious loving Holy power of God through faith in His sinless son Jesus who came in the flesh so we might have a high priest who understands the feelings of our infirmaties and that we might be free from sin and have our bodies and hearts healed and cleansed! There's more power in the name and blood of Jesus than in all of the dark powers of hell combined, praise God!
