Authored by Harper Lee, she said that she drew on her childhood experiences for reference.
Written during a very deeply divided country along racial lines. A time when a white woman could just accuse a black man of disrespect and have him summarily punished. And in fact that's the main action. The trail is very moving. But an undercurrent of those that are different, and why we feel this way about them, through the eyes of innocence, the eyes of a child. Boo Radley, a mentally challenged white man, was made out to be a monster but becomes the reluctant hero.

my class saw that movie yesterday. i got a project due tomorrow about that book. but anyways its about scout as a adult remeniscing about her childhood when she was younger. through it she learns to treat people with respect. when she was younger her, jem, and dill used to messed with boo radley when actually boo radley was representing the mocking bird. also during her childhood her father atticus was defending a black man name tom roberson for being accused of rapping a white women when really her daddy was beating. now this book was during the 1930's. anyways she learns not to kill a mocking bird because all it does is make music to our ears and dosent harm anyone. boo radley represents the mockingbird because he dosent mess with anybody but still he gets picked on. well when radley saved jems and scouts lives when bob ewelle tryed to kill them he killed bob. but atticus and the shierrf said they will just say that bob fell on his knife and killed himself. they didnt want boo radley go on trial to be convicted of murder. why kill a mocking bird when he dosent do anything but good

Many other people have asked others about this book on Yahoo Answers. Please tell me you've at least read it. If you're desperate, try sparknotes. Also, please use the "search for questions" box directly above here to find all the other times people have responded to this very same question.
