Solar energy when it hits the earth is trapped by the atmosphere and is gathered into the ground and water. Our solar energy is of course the SUN/SOLAR.

Other forms of energy come from under the ground and usually lay at the earths fault lines, there are many animals and plants that have adapted to living there instead of Sunlight , but that is not solar.
Solar energy is absorbed into trees, and other life forms, and releases in many forms Photosynthesis is one.
