Like most man made purebred dogs, the English bulldog is prone to many health problems that limit their lifespan. They suffer from hip dysplasia, skin and digestive problems, as well as heart and respiratory problems. They are also very prone to eye injury and heat stroke. Although some bulldogs may live as long as 12-14 years, a more realistic expectation is 7-9 years.

I've heard varying ages. Anywhere from 3-5 years to 7-9 years. But I also know that unfortunately they are not a generally healthy breed. They are prone to a lot of problems such as sinus (from their pushed in faces) skin problems, allergies and hip/joint problems. The yearly vet bills can become huge! This breed is not for your average working person. These dogs are a financial investment.

That can depend largely on whether you bought him from a good breeder who regularily health tests her stock, or got a 'deal' and bought the cheapest one you could find. This breed is known for health problems and in a breed such as this, buying from a good breeder is especially important.

8 to 10 years obviously depending on health. the reason it is so low is because of breathing difficulties that are brought on through breeding. ensure a reputable breeder.
