I think you should shower when you need to! I usually shower every other day, and wash my hair only when it needs it (the less often you wash it, the less often it NEEDS to be washed, unless you've been doing something to get it dirty).

Americans are so weird about showering! I used to have to shower daily - I even missed class a few times because I couldn't stand the thought of leaving without having showered. Now that I don't shower every day, no one has said anything. Even my fiancee, who is with me pretty much all the time, has never said that I smell or look dirty.

Also, you CAN NOT get lice just by not washing your hair. Lice have to come from somewhere (usually from sharing hats or hairbrushes with someone who has them). They don't just sprout from an unwashed head.

Well, actually, I had a doctor tell me that in the winter , unless you have a job where you get dirty everyday, it is not necessary to shower or bathe every day. He said it dries out your skin and can cause a lot of problems. He said every other day is more then enough. So, that's out of the mouth of a doctor. In the winter I follow that advice. Never smell bad or look dirty. Needless to say I would never go to bed without washing my face and brushing my teeth.

In school i was taught the reason why americans always get colds/flues is because we shower too much. That we wash off the good cells and bacteria fighting stuff off are bodies. It does makes sense but i take a shower every day except my lazy day which is sunday. Its a habit and i like to smell so fresh and so clean. If i dont then i become real bitchy and irritated.

nowadays showering daily is the "rule" people consider normal. I shower daily, and i know some people at school who sometimes skip a day if they simply don't have enough time. But if time isn't an issue then i say once a day, just to be clean and have a happy body, is fairly efficient. (although you can only wash your hair every other day or whatever works for you)

We didn't have enough hot water either, but we all showered. Shower time was just cut down, or some of us showered the night before and the rest in the morning. I guess if you don't sweat much, and are not doing anything physical then you may be okay. If you don't stink then why change your ways... They actually say that we shower too much, kills helpful things on your skin... I'm a shower everyday person... but thats just me.

Another thing on lice... They prefer cleaner hair anyways (not that they are too picky) But they prefer this because cleaner hair is not sticky and oily it is easier to move through and eggs can attatch easier to the hair folicle if it is not full of grime and debree. Just fyi... ;) Also I think you are doing fine. Some ppl need showers more than others. You know when you need one. If you feel self concious or guilty when you go out without showering that day, then shower. I do personally feel that way if I do not shower everyday but that is just me.

I personally prefer a daily shower, but in a lot of European countries, people shower 3-4 times a week (this promotes better hair health). I used to shower 3-4 times a week, and I didn't tell anyone and nobody complained.

I hope I helped!

Now that youre older, you sweat more and you do other things more. You probobly go out more, and to places like clubs, which have mega gern alert. Hair should be washed EVERY day, unless you are looking forward to getting lice and de-licing your house with all this cleaning stuff. If you dont take a shower every day, when you go to bed at night, you are taking those yucky germs along with you. They will cover your pillow and sheets and everything. Than, the next time you take a shower, once u get into bed, the germs are all over you. Please consider showering more often. Itll make your hygeine go up as well as your self cxonfidence. Hope I have helped you. Have a wonderufl day!

well I dont know, but this is the way my whole family is, and I have uncles that I know havn't had a shower in years, and that is no joke.
Also if you wash your hair too often it will get dried out sometimes, i dont think you would be considered dirty, but i think almost everyone showers daily today

Not unless you're working at some particularly dirty job. As long as you wash thoroughly, you're doing fine.
