I have to go a bar mitzvah but my friend invites me to a party. Which one I go?

I would think that the bah mitzvah would take precedence, because this is a once in a lifetime event. There will be more parties, and you can always tell your friend that you will try to catch up with them after the ceremony. I'm not sure, but I don't think they last any longer than a few hours.

It depends on your preference, of course. But you should take a lot of stuff into consideration before making your decision. For example, is the bar mitzvah for family or a friend? Which one were you invited to first? and so on.

Why not both? If it's a good party, they'll still be partying by the time you get there. :) But if you can't go to both, I think you should go to the bar mitzvah.

Hate to sound old fashioned, but probably the Bar Mitzvah. it's more important, unless you only know the person very remotely. If it's somewhat of a close friend, or a family member, I'd say you're pretty much obligated to go.

Which ever that has the better location. Both will pro bally have a lot of food. And which ever one has the fun people. You wouldn't want to go to the bar mitzvah if only old people are gonna be there!

If you told your friend you'd go to his bar mitzvah first, then you are obligated to go. Ditching one friend for another is not cool! You can only get out of an invite if you have a legitimate reason (sick, relative died, etc...)

But how do you get out of going to a bar mitzvah?
It might depend on which you were asked to go to first.
