Ok thanks!
But yeah, my paper is on selective service, but I just wanted to know if women already have the rights..they can choose to go to war, however, they cannot be drafted without their consent, right?

You are correct, for selective service only men are required to register upon reaching their 18th birthday (or before). Failure to do so is actually a crime!
Since the late 70's and early 80's we've been an all volunteer armed forces, so no drafts. The selective service is there to have (so to speak) a ready list of all military aged men should we need to immediately start the draft again. When registered in the selective service, you are also required to MAINTAIN your address.
For women, their role in combat is still limited even today. It's taken years (hell centuries) to prove they are as capable warriors as any man is. The problem, selective service wise, is the prenotion that drafting women is politically very sensitve and bad. It doesn't matter that there is not a draft right now, just requiring women to register is political suicide.
Women would be able, as they were in previous wars, to enlist. It's only been recently they are given a lot of 'combat zone' roles that they were not previously entitled to. In prior conflicts, enlisted (non-commissioned) and commissioned (officer) were only given administrative, technical and medical assignments (and other non-combat duties). Would many be in combat situations? Yes (such as nurses in a combat zone), but they would not be required to FIGHT directly on the front lines.
Bottom line to your question: Women CANNOT register (i.e. cannot be drafted at all) with the selective service even if they wanted to because the draft regulations do not require women to do this. They CAN enlist in any of the armed forces or be COMMISSIONED as an officer in any of the armed forces.
Good luck on your report!

Women are already fighting in this war. Women are not
required to register for the Draft, but they can and do
volunteer for service with the US Armed Forces. I think
women should be able to register for the Draft or Selective
Service. Women make mighty fine members of the
US Armed Forces.

But your paper is on Selective Service. Currently - all males are required to register for the Selective Service when they turn 18. Your paper is about if women should be included in this too.

Women are not allowed in traditional combat roles i.e. Tank Commander, Infantry, etc. However with the current war the way it is there is not a tangible front line so women are finding themselves in combat even though they are not in those roles. Currently women are not required to register for selective service. Only men are on that stupid chopping block. It seems that even though women fight for equal rights this is one area where femminists don't believe they should be. Kinda funny...selective equality.

OK your first question was can women sign up to fight in wars? The answer is No. No women can not take on a combat job in the military. Currently only men can serve in combat jobs such as artillery ,infantry, cavalry, scout etc. However women do find themselves in harms way they perform patrols, escort, qrf, guard and raids. As far as selective service no women do not register.

Everyone fights war... everyone is effected by war... War is fought by people... and Woman, as i know them are people too!
War is not going to decide who lives or dies... everyone dies. My grandfather was Portuguese and he fought in Angola to fight for Angolann independence... This was Portugal's Vietnam... Bissau, Mozembique, and Angola. I'm a Brazilain American and my Father hates war. AND so does everyone who has a conscious.
I think that Men shouldn't be targetted for Selective service in the U.S. if Woman are citizens too.

Yes, if you call in for air support, you might get a female pilot. They are flying armed helicopters that have been popping snipers off rooftops and jet fighters that have been dropping bombs. Some are in armed strykers, but I've never heard of them in an offensive operation. That has generally been the range of what they are allowed to do. You can volunteer to go to Iraq or Afganistan (or both).

It wasn't continually that way Boutica a favourite historic personality of mine became a woman typical the Queen of the Iceni's she fought the legions of Rome and beat them She collected up adult men and women to strive against to Romans Imperialist The very patriarchal rulers of Rome were horrified by the idea and the defeat by an insignificant female She became unsuccess finished in preventing the Roman military from killing each and every of the Druids yet idea if she might want to merge her armies with the dominion of Mercia she might want to keep her human beings a similar destiny of extermination on the fingers of Rome even extra unlucky Boutica lost in her very last conflict and became killed She fell into the seize of vanity - and had invited villagers to come back and watch her kick some Roman butt The Romans despatched diverse legions the finest of the mercenaries they could to defeat this female typical and Queen The bloodbath became so finished that purely Roman historians were left to account the conflict - declaring that the Iceni fought bravely and were in each and every way fearless - describing them as barbarians who had their women strive against with their adult men they lost because the Celt's fought as persons and for this reason no adventure for the instruments of Rome who killed as one gadget Boutica - Queen Elizabeth the first (who stood in the front of her military) and others of be conscious which includes the fabled myths of the Valkyries (Freyja Queen of the Valkyries ) and so on all female warriors So why won't be able to they strive against now ? The patriarchal society of Rome ruled the globe - and grew to develop into the patriarchal society of england which grew to develop into the patriarchal society of the united states the international became lost with the defeat of Boutica - it truly is my opinion we became once equals till an Empire from over there - properly something else is heritage as you comprehend

There are women combat pilots.
In general women should not be involved in combat. Women do not have the physical strength for combat and women casualties are very hard on the men. Men are expendable; only women can bear children.
