I am just finishing school. I will be done Dec. 14. My fiancee and I have been engaged since October and I want to have the wedding in Oct. 2007. I don't want to start any planning until after the holidays and I am done with school. Is it possible, if the venue is availble, to plan the wedding in 10 months?

It's absolutely possible to plan a wedding in 10 months. I planned mine in 11 months from across the continent! We invited around 150 people. Make sure you look into a photographer 1st and then book the reception site and church. Since you're having an October wedding, you should be fine with availability. Ours is in Jan, and we've found that most vendors (florists, caterers, etc...) aren't booked up in the "off-season" like they would be April-September. Websites like www.wedding channel.com and www.theknot.com are very helpful in planning and budgeting. Good luck and have fun!!

Some popular venues are booked months in advance, especially on weekends at the best times of day. You can start looking for the place as soon as possible, and once you have that settled, get one of those wedding planning books to help you with the time frame on the other things. I planned my wedding in about 4 months, but it depends on how elaborate you're going to be.

You need to book the reception hall, dj or band and photographer right away. Those are the 2 things that book up fast! Everything else is a piece of cake they are the time consuming things like the cake, favors, and flowers, those are the fun things! I wish you the best of luck! I only have one suggestion, what ever you do ! Do not go to David's bridal! They will rip you off!

I had no help planning our wedding! All my girls lived out of town!
It was so fun!

yes. it is possible. start immediatley after the holidays on making the arrangements. Start NOW on who you want in the wedding party, colors, theme, etc. Look around at vacation spots, just browse and get an idea so when you actually start the planning, it's that much more organized.
Good luck! And best wishes.

properly, he's proper: commonly adult males do no longer care regarding the marriage making plans. yet even although lots of the marriage they care approximately, i'm to no longer say. some might in basic terms care regarding the little info, on an analogous time as others do no longer care in any respect. curiously, this is the class your fiance falls under. My fiance, on the different hand, seems to in basic terms care regarding the large info--the region, venue, customer record, dinner menu, colorations, and leisure source (band, orchestra, DJ, dancers, singers, and so on.). Small issues like the centerpieces and flower bouquets do no longer intrigue him. besides, in the adventure that your fiance does not like some thing regarding the marriage, he could communicate up. You 2 have a genuine stay marriage coming up quickly and if he's "shy" around you, for sure he isn't waiting for marriage. So in basic terms proceed making plans your wedding ceremony and supply up pushing him to assert some thing--if he needs to assert some thing, he will. it quite is obtrusive he quite does not care.

Venues... yes, but if your looking to go church style you will need about at least 7-8 months in advance to talk to your officiant.

If you aren't doing it church style, just don't start any later than 6 months otherwise you may be pulling out all of your hair by then.

Congrats and have a happy marriage.

Absolutely. My daughter did it in 4 months--with lots of help from her intended. My son and his wife did it in 6 months. Both turned out to be rather big weddings (300-400 guests). Smaller would be easier (and cheaper). 10 months would be a snap--and you can be THINKING between now and the "start" of planning.

I would say yes. just don't be too specific as to what you want. Be open to different locals and times. I too have been engaged for a while and we plan on marrying Oct 07 also, and I haven't done a thing yet. Don't sweat it

Of course...while some very popular sites will book a year in advance, others won't book completely until 8 months out, or so...you'll be fine! However, I suggest you hire a wedding planner because they will be able to get you deals that you wouldn't usually get on your own.
