No, I would not be angry, but why would do such a thing. Nativity means birth and one way or another we are born. Why not depict Mithras or Quetzlcoatl as their nativity might have occurred. After all, Christians are only guessing about the manger scene, but it has become our tradition and means something to us. And no, they are not "all the same guy" to orthodox Christians. At Christmas we celebrate only the birth of Jesus Christ.

Mad? no! but you forgot Buddha! Mithras would be perfect! But I am with the poster who said they would park their car across the street just to watch other people's reactions! I have always been kind of revolutionary! I use to do outrageous things back in the 60's for the same thing! Just for laughs. But trust me, the local home owners association would be on you so fast....even faster than they were on the people with the peace sign wreath!

Wow, I clicked on your question thinking that I believe Quetzlcoatl was a representation of Jesus Christ (in symbolic form of course), so no I wouldn't be mad, but I've got to admit a feathered serpent in a manger just wouldn't look as cute as a baby.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you however you set up your nativity scene :)

Interesting idea. I wasn't going to answer this at first, but it gave me an idea. I'm Deist, and I had someone ask me what Deists celebrate at Christmas, Thomas Jefferson? Perhaps I should set up a nativity with prominent Deists in it. I live in the Bible Belt (like the one above), it might truly be interesting to see what people think about it.

I certainly would NOT be mad. We all have a right to our beliefs and our culture. I think we are all worshipping the same GOD with a different name. Other countries, however are far more serious about ther religion than we here in the United States are. I think we used to be a more GOD fearing country and people than we are in todays world though. Some of this attitude comes from OUR superior judges who give smaller groups who dont want God in our lives, more leeway than they do to the majority who WANT God in our lives. This country was founded on God and freedom of religion. Where has it all gone??

Wow - what have you been reading that 'tells' you all three characters named are the same 'guy'? I think you'd better check your sources, again and again ---
Mithras has nothing to do with the christfollower's jesus persona - and the serpent god Q from Mexico? Pulleeeeeezzzzz . . .
Get your facts closer to the truth , , , then cite your sources?
Thanx -

Mixing myths violates suspension of disbelief. It'd be like having Rooster Cogburn starring in 'The Green Berets'

honestly, whats the point of having a nativity scene if you arent using Jesus? He is the whole reason for the nativity scene.

I wouldn't be mad. I would certainly feel sad. I would wonder why you chose to make such a statement knowing how many people will be offended.
Peace :)
