Why would the INSURANCE company come after YOU, unless you own the car, and she hit the insurance company vehicle??
Sorry, there aren't enough details here. If you own the car, and your car is in an accident, the other party CAN COME AFTER YOU, as the owner of the car.

You need to give more info.
In the eyes of insurance, you and your spouse are the same entity, so anything your spouse does, you are on the hook for.

Anything your spouse does, that he/she can be found legally liable for, and come back to you. In the eyes of the law (civil) you are one. You can be held liable for civil damages.

If you are on a joint policy with your spouse, then both of you can be liable.
