it helps once the area has healed. i used it on the staples in my arm and my mom used it after her surgery. it cuts down on the scarring. if you have any questions i would ask the doctor just to be sure. i know when my dad got a tattoo recently they told him to use cocoa butter on it.

Yes, the red is the fact it is a wound the itchy is that it is healing resist scratching as this will infect it and the raised is scar tissue building up underneath which will wourk itself up eventually. As long as you are not pussing out, it doesnt have striations or is super tender then you should be okay, check with your doctor to be sure.
