Someone I love is using methadone to overcome oxycotin addiction. She's been on the program for 7 months and has not slipped. Her side effects are awful. Sweating, nausea, dizziness and fatigue. This seems like coming off of drugs instead of helping her to overcome the initial addiction. Anybody out there that can recommend anything? Thankx for your time and consideration Folks>I so appreciate it.

Yes, Methadone is in an of itself a very powerful narcotic and I understand your frustration - This is a questionable treatment and many people question its value. You can expect your friend to be as addicted to methadone as any other narcotic drug. This is inarguable. I don't understand why this could ever be considered a 'cure' for Oxycontin addiction when it is almost as bad. Good luck to you and your friend.
