I Bought a vcr and dvd recorder combo so i can put all my daughters disney tapes onto dvd but it say that the tapes are protected. How do i get rid of the protector on the tapes,so I can put the tapes away for her for when she gets older.

The protection (mostly macrovision) on the tapes won't let you make copies but if you go to www.videohelp.com you may find the answer.

You got a combo unit.... sorry to hear that.

There is nothing you can do, since the VHS player and DVD recorder are in the same unit. If you had separate units, you may be able to work around this, since you can legally make one copy of a VHS tape to DVD for personal archival use.
