It's pretty cut and dry. There are rules to follow if you want to come to the US to live here, be a student, vacation, etc. If the rules aren't followed and you come here illegally, you have broken the law which makes you a criminal. I have NO problem with legal immigration. So what isn't cut and dry? Illigal means you have broken the law. Why should the illegals get rewarded for their ill behavior while other criminals get punished? Shouldn't anyone who breaks the law get punished?

Well, alpinestars31, I never said to line them up and shoot them, put them in camps where we can do unmentionable experiments on them and then send them to the gas chambers to die while their children watched.....you're a bit extreme for comparing me to Hitler, especially that my fathers side of the family is Jewish. If someone follows the rules, fine, great fantastic. If they come here illegally, they are a CRIMINAL!!! You don't really understand that do you?
People go to jail for posession of marijuana, a practically harmless plant, yet an illegal comes here, has an anchor baby, collects welfare in that childs name, has a job that pays under the table (while collecting welfare), goes to the hospital for a cold and doesn't pay the bill putting hostiptals out of business and raising the cost of OUR healthcare and YOU compare ME to Hitler?? You're insane, man.

I totally agree with you!! Why are we babysitting these illegals? They broke the law by coming here without papers so-----once caught for anything, if someone isn't legal get them the hell out of here! Come on!! Mexico won't give us back their people when they murder ours because they don't want their people put into our death penalty system, but yet they think it's ok if their people break our laws and ruin our healthcare system. Why do people expect us to cater to these individuals? Do it legally or stay where you were born!

Because nobody gives a s...t about the law anymore. If you say something they'll answer "laws are there to be broken" No, they ain't. I am a legal immigrant, had to work hard and learn to speak English. There was no program in my language on TV, there was no free second language course, we learned and made do. We didn't expect hand outs, nor did we wanted the country to change to our culture, we adapted, Isn't it when in Rome, do as the Romans do? If you want to come to this country, do it right and if you're illegal, expect to be deported. And don't start crying to the media, who then takes the opportunity to play the role of the bleeding heart and we're supposed to feel sorry.
I am with you all the way, its a crime and should be punished.

You are 100% right that under the law illegal immigrants should not be in the US but you & what army are going to stop them from continuing to get into the US? Now if you turned the US into a police state like Cuba, N. Korea, or the former Soviet Union then the US problem of illegal immigration would be solved but we don't and one of the scarfices for living in a free society is that it's relatively easy to come and go.

Nobody is having a problem understanding this, and because you do it does not make you a genius. You would think that since the problem is so "cut and dry" wouldnt the solution be as well?! Well obviously not or something would have been done already. Constantly we see people like you posting this on here like "what part of illegal dont you understand?" You need to aim your blame at those not enforcing our laws, or implementing screening programs that would prevent illegals from obtaining benefits, not at people taking advantage or outsmarting these people. And Yes, to your last question.

Tell it to the corporations who are trying to get off on the cheap by hiring illegals. Illegals have no papers, so it is easy to take advantage of them. When the feds come knocking, the illegals are the ones to take the fall by being deported. Opportunists exploit them for sex, drugs, and threaten to deport them if they don't work as virtual slaves. I have no problem understanding the concept of illegal. I do have a problem with people focusing on the most vulnerable as the source of the problem rather than the culprits who encourage it. (This includes the Mexican government).

Cause this is becoming a nation of lawyers that argue everything. The concepts of legal and illegal is starting to blur. What once was cut and dry illegal may not send you to jail anymore. So, in this debate, people drop the illegal term because it being done "to feed their families". I am not trying to condone it, I am anti-illegal as well. However, I am just offering a possible explanttion.

I have no trouble understanding the term illegal. Now,why am I required to agree with you on what should be done about them. I also do not agree with getting punished for breaking just any law. I do not consider it a crime to try to make living. There is nothing I can do if you do not agree with me.

When the subject comes up on Y'Answers there are usually as many 'defenders' as there are alternative voices.
This amazes me. Neither do I have a problem with legal immigrants. In fact, it seems to me that 'rounding-up' the outlaws that are already here is less important than stopping the steady flow of new arrivals.
Is it possible those who are legally here don't realize - they, too, are being scrood?

I agree ! They are like a thief who goes shop-lifting and then say, " oh please..give me a break..i stole cuz i needed the money for food & drinks..don't treat me like a criminal".
I really think that EMPLOYERS are the cause of the problem. If u make tough laws , jail & fine the Employers, the illegals would go back to their countries by themselfs cuz they are out of work & money. SIMPLE !

The illegals in my state can get into our college(UNL) for the same price as an in state student. Is that fair for all of the out of state students that have to pay more than the illegals. They should have to get a Visa and pay the higher price just like everyone else that come in from another country. Illegal is illegal in my opinion!!!
