The biblical covenant between God and the Jewish people is described in Gen 15:18.
Remnant: does this refer to those that will be saved come judgement day?

Good question. Presently, only those who put their trust in Jesus will be saved. In the future, only those who endure to the end, and refuse the mark of the beast will be saved. In the book of Revelation, Israel is judged, but many will be deceived.

All of Israel will be enlightened to the identity of Jesus Christ upon the 2nd coming of Jesus. At this point (I believe even those Jewish that have passed away will get the opportunity as well, if they have not already upon there passing) the Jewish people, God's chosen people, will have the opportunity to accept Jesus as Messiah. I believe that most of the Jewish people of the true heritage will accept Christ and be saved. Israel as a Nation (all of Israel) will be saved. Of course, they may have those that refuse and they will not be saved. One thing for sure, EVERY Jewish person WILL be given the opportunity and their spiritual blindness removed. Regardless of what the world tries to do, Israel WILL remain and the Jewish people WILL carry on in their God given land of Israel! GOD BLESS ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE and ALL those who follow CHRIST JESUS the MESSIAH!! The remnant is the Jewish people. Contrary to some opinion, God DOES still have a covenant with the Jewish people, and God can not lie.

I can't think of it off the top of my head, but there is a passage in the bible that some understand to answer the whole debate on the Jews and being the chosen people but not recieving Christ. It says something to the extent that God has purposely put a shroud over there eyes but will eventually lift it, and only then will they come to know Christ as the Messiah. It says he purposely blinded them to bring "others into the kingdom". And also because God is Merciful, I think he will have mercy on them.

Israel is described as a harlot in many texts of the Hebrew Scriptures: Isa. 1:21, Ezek 16, 23, Isaiah 57, Jeremiah 2-3 and Hosea 2

"If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove." Jer 4:1

"Jerusalem is the harlot". The great harlot lends money to the nations to control them.

"... and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow." Deuteronomy 28:12

Does the fact that the woman lends money to the nations prove that she rules them? The answer is yes. In Deuteronomy 15:6 clearly shows that by lending money, she rules the nations.

"The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender." Proverbs 22:7

I thinks the Judgement Day thing means that all Christians who TRULY believe in Him, not just lack-luster will be saved. The only Christians back then were from Israel but now its world-wide.

Ezekiel 11

13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

15Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession.

16Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

17Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

18And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.

19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

20That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
