Don't listen to the rude and immature comments about sending her to public school. Only people who are uneducated about homeschooling suggest things like that.
Get her into some homeschooling groups. Maybe a play group or two. Are you church attending people? Maybe she'd enjoy Sunday School with kids her age. Does she have cousins her age? Maybe you could invite them over a few times a month. Hope this helps..and by the way..I was homeschooled :-)

Your daughter definitely doesn't need school to have friends. Four is too young for school, anyway. School is glorified day care when it's for kids under 6.
Have you searched google for homeschooling in new orleans?
I found a link for lousiana unschoolers. unschoolers are the coolest, most welcoming, most empathic towards kids - to broadly generalize.

You can always start a homeschooling group yourself. Many people are hungry for them and feel isolated until they get hooked up.
You ask a library for a room, put fliers everywhere that you are hosting a homeschool organizational meeting, and get a few folks. There were four families at our initial meeting, hundreds belong now.
You could focus on a play n learn for kids around your daughter's age. Get three or so other moms, rotate meetings at each others houses, and select a book and matching activity for the kids each time. Or have each mom prepare a cool science experiment, craft activity, or hike.
You must be bold and brave and this will open up a wonderful world for you both!
Good luck!

How about, oh, going to school with other kids? Surely public school can't be THAT bad at the 4-year-old level, or there is a private school that she can go to. It's pretty sad when a kid has to ask for friends for Christmas.
I remember reading a question a couple of months ago. The kid was a teenager and said s/he was homeschooled and had no friends. It was really sad. Sure, home-schooled kids win all the geography and spelling bees, but they miss out on so much more.

aren't most children homeschooled at 4 since most public schools won't enroll you until 5? try a preschool or library group. she is trying to tell you something, even at 4...let her be a kid and play with other kids.

Find a local support group. They will usually have activities, field trips, park days, etc for children. In my experience these are generally better attended by younger children.
Here are a few links I found: http://www.la-home-education.com/support/people/area5/gdata.shtml

Best wishes.

if ur afraid of something happening to her, then send her to a private skool instead of a public one
she doesnt need to stay lyke that long b/c it could lead to major problems in social work and depression later in life
