I asked this girl out today:
"Do you think it would ever work between you and me?"
"No, not really."
What's the next logical course of action, assuming she's not mad at me, I'm pretty straightforward, and I see her every day? I want to go with her, and I think I can, I just need to say the right thing. Any suggestions?

Even if everything is not okay, pretend it is. Act like it hasn't affected you in any way. If you see her in the hall, just keep talking to your friend. Also, if she says, "Hi." Just smile, wave, and continue what you were doing.

if at first you dont succeed try try again. men and women are very different when it comes to dating. In my experience many who say they arent interested can easily become interested. Perhaps have a "friends only" drink with her, tell her about urself and be interested in her life. Maybe she will decide that she is interested. Women dont seem to be in quite so much of a hurry as men when it comes to these things. Perhaps send her flowers? tell her she looks nice today or u like her perfume. Little things is what it takes, not brute force.
