Is there such a thing as twisted intestines?

yes, its called a volvulus. it is pretty serious b/c part of the intestine may loss blood flow and the tissue will die resulting in obstruction, malnutrition, and probable surgery to remove the dead part.

I think it's known as twisted bowel, and it does exist
