Dear Lil,
Sounds typical for a 13 year old. Teens need consistency and direction for sure. Be firm but fair. Set realistic rules of how she is to behave and set consequences if she doesn't. Follow through, don't be wishy washy. No one ever said it was easy to a be a parent...they should give instruction manuals when they are born! Always be sure to tell her and show her love by finding time to do things w/ her rather she says, Mom I don't want to...she really does want mom to be in her life. All the best to you and hope this helps.

well u know what she dient get that why by accident, u let her get that way. oh n dont say its hard when ur a single parent i got lots of friends doin what u do, and u know what they would beat that behind for that crap, and oh ya call DHS on one of them, they will tell that child u can go live with them see which is better, that child of urs is 13 if she cant follow rules n watch her mouth maybe she should go to a juvinille facility to help her learn how to. i showed my son who was boss when he acted up, ya know what he dont think its fun to be like that no more. and its not abandoning ur child its teachin her she cant get away with disrespect ..something u LET her get away with for way too long

Sounds like a good old fashion whipping with leather belt across the a.s.s. and a backhand across the mouth would do this kid a world of good !
Of course a bar of soap don't cost much and wouldn't hurt either!

Try telling her that if she doesn't act right against grandma you will have to change jobs and there won't be any money for Christmas. Maybe that will make things clear to her!

Well she seems to have never been properly disciplined, so your only option is to put her in a group home if she is so out of control.
