I have to loose about 14 pounds in 18 days. What's the best diet for this? It can't be too 'out there' because my mom will get mad. What's the best diet to use for this?? How can I control myself when I feel a craving coming on? Usually, I can't stop thinking about it until I eat that food.
And, once I start eating, it's sort of hard to stop--because my mouth craves more 'texture'. I need help. I want to loose 14 pound for Christmas.....

What did I say? I know I will JUST be loosing water weight; but I don't care. What is the best way? I know it's not healthy either, and I expect to gain it all back. It's part of an experiment I'm doing.....Christmas is involved too.

Hello!

You can do it!

First, drink TONS of water. Eat fruits, veggies, cereals, and chicken or fish (like salmon, shrimp...). Exercise at LEAST 60 minutes a day. It seems like a lot, but if it is really worth it to you, you will find a way - maybe 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening?

Also - to kill your cravings, I have three suggestions that work REALLY well:

1. Eat an apple - it will fill you up and has tons of fiber which is really good for you.

2. Brush your teeth - you won't want to eat whatever was tempting you with the toothpaste taste in your mouth.

3. Drink three tall glasses of water. If you still crave something afterward, GO FOR IT...but trust me, you won't.

I call those the silver bullets of cravings. :o)

Remember to strengthen your muscles - don't just do cardio - because the muscles will continue to burn fat even when you are just sitting still!

Trust me - I lost 67 pounds in 4 months. You really CAN do it!

Best of luck! :o)

You cannot safely lose 14 pounds in 18 days. Even if you did somehow do this, it would be almost 100% water weight and come right back.

The safe rate of weight loss is 2 lbs per week. The only way to do this and keep the weight off is to increase calories burned and decrease caloric intake, ie. eat less and do more. That means a healthy and balanced diet, and exercising (at least moderate walking) 30-45 min most days of the week.

To combat cravings, one should drink water, chew gum, or get up and do something like walking. It will help get your mind off things.

Finally, you should measure your BMI (Google the term for more info) to make sure your goal is a healthy weight for you.

Good luck. Getting into shape is something everyone struggles with.

18 days isn't a lot of time to lose weight the healthy way. It's about losing body fat and inches, not overall weight because that includes lean muscle mass. I'm assuming you want to look slimmer for Christmas, well the best way is to clean up your eating, doesn't mean you have to go on a diet, just means you have to eat healthier choices of foods.

I've had tremendous success with Beachbody programs, particularly Slim in 6 and i'm doing Power 90 now. They're great programs that let you work out in the privacy of your own home. They offer great support groups on their website's message boards and it's pretty easy to do. All you have to do is decide on a program, decide to get started, commit to it and you'll succeed.

Some tips to beat cravings though is to drink a lot of water and eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. You'll feel more full during the day and you'll not be tempted to induldge/binge on junk food. Another plus of eating 5-6 meals is a day is that it boosts your metabolism an it actually promotes fat burning.

www.beachbody.com, check it out, it works.

If you commit now to regular exercise, healthy nutrition, you can lose a good amount of your goal before christmas and you'll do it the healthy way but you'd have to get started right away. It doesn't even matter what kind of exercise you do as long as you're moving and doing something that gets your heart rate up!

Good luck!

Fourteen pounds is kind of extreme to lose in that little bit of time. If you were to lose that weight it would not be fat that you lost but water. As soon as you start eating again you will gain the weight back. The best way is to exercise four times a week and eat healthier. It maybe hard but learn to discipline yourself and you will succeed. Remember to take vitamins. I recommend One a day. Take some fiber pills to aid in digestion. Fiber also works great to supress hunger. You can try a detoxification diet just to cleanse your system before you begin your workout and healthy food program. I recommend the vegetables and fruits detox diet for atleast a week. No longer then three weeks. There are other forms of detoxification if you dont like that one. Try to have your family buy healthier food. If there is no junk food in the house you wont beable to eat it. By the way why would your mom get mad if your trying to lose weight? Why dont you try to keep yourself busy so you wont think of food so much. Also drink lots of water so your stomach will feel full. Chew sugar less gum so your mouth will have something to keep it busy. Stay determined to look and feel good by placing a picture of your favorite person that you would like to look like and use that to push you to succeed in your plan. Good luck!
