Sure its worth it. that would be a large improvement over stock. You got an amp?? If bump is what you want I would go w/ a big amp and 1-2 12" subs. the 10" will have really good bass. How many channels on the amp and what is the rating into 4 ohms?

My system in my '97 GMC Sierra is all Infinity reference speakers with Pioneer amplification.

I am using the component 6.5" with the seperate tweeters in the front doors, and I made two small enclosures to house the 4" x 6" for the back (Infinity says these fit, but they are too deep; too big a magnet). I am running a single 10" sub which I have in a homemade .75 cu ft volume enclosure that sits behind the driver's seat.

The highs on the Inifinity speakers are amazing - cymbals are unbelievable. The tweeters are rated to 55kHz, which is about 2X the human hearing range. I believe this is an important distinction, because I believe the high range actually colors the sounds you can hear with the overtones that exist in the range you can't hear. I believe this is why they sound so real.

I run the sub with a 760w Pioneer 2 channel with the outputs bridged (see the instructions for the amp). It is plenty loud enough for me and hits hard enough for me to feel the bass in my chest as it bounces through my body from behind the seat. It makes my pant cuffs rattle too, which is also a good sign. The other 6 speakers are running through a 600w 4 channel Pioneer using the line level inputs and running the factory head inputs and commons directly into this. I am using the Infinity passive crossovers for the front component speakers that came with the speakers.

I spent $575 on my system and am using the factory head, so I don't have to worry about thieves (everything is hidden - even with the way I did the rear enclosures, you cannot tell that the truck does not have just the factory system in it).

You'll definately be able to feel some good bass. If you're looking for power, Infinity subs are not the way to go. However, they are if you're looking for sound quality. It seems like a nice set up except you can buy all the speakers and wires online for much less.

Infinity is a great brand for the price. there refrence is ok, but if you like the way that sounds, upgrade to there Kappa and Perfect line. there Perfect subs sould really really good.

i had 4 12" Infinity Reference series subs in my trunk for about 1 year. they sounded awesome, but honestly, for good bass, they may be more trouble than they are worth. i set all my audio setting (checked ohms, power settings, etc), and everything was good, but every 4 months, i would end up frying one or two subs. if you go with them, definitely get the warranty with it, and save your boxes/paperwork/receipts. if you do burn one, youll need all that stuff to get the replacement, trust me
