Is there anyway that I can erase the light on the above vehicle without taking it to a main dealer?
Ford, Nissan and Renault have a user mode which can be used to erase the airbag warning light. Can anyone help?
I have even tried disconnecting the battery to reboot the vehicle systems and without success I may add.
Cheers

There is no fault with the airbag on this car, the light came on as I was checking the horn system which is located also through the rotary coupling behind the steering wheel.
I was aware that the light would come on and presumed that there would have been an easier way of putting out the light other than going to the main dealer, Thanks for the positive feedback though, NOT!
by the way, an airbag warning lamp showing on the dash of a car during an MOT is not a reason for refusal to issue a VT20.
Cheers

i own a repair shop, and the way the chip is designed in this one it has to be done at the the dealer only,or someone with the right tool to do it with,,they have a memory chip ,in them that retains the trouble code, along with the light to remind you of this,,its a bad design but good for the dealers,,good luck i hope this help,s.

No you cant erase it but any garage with the right diagnostic kit IE snap on with the vauxhall software can .I font know where you get mots from but an air bag warning light on is a mandatory failure.Mot quality control inspector. You could also have damaged the squib driver which is under the horn contact.

i have worked in body shops for many years and the only way is to have it reset by a dealer - however early vauxhalls had a nasty habit of blowing the airbags for no reason - not nice if your driving it at the time - so i would get it done a bit sharpish - also it is an MOT failiure

As per Vicky's answer, if the system warning light is on, any garage's diagnostic equipment will show a fault code, telling them exactly what the problem is. Take the car to a decent local independent garage: You'll get better price & service.

I think your airbag needs attention. Take it for attention by a trained mechanic.

the vikings are coming to take you away!seriously, there is probably a defect inside your steering column that is causing the light to come on.
