Oy, you got some terrible answers. You need to run the high octane just for daily driving. You can get additives to boost the octane over 100 when you are racing. Find this at any performance shop.

Always start with tires and rims. If you have the money get the lightest, strongest rims that will fit. Coil-overs, strut tower braces, and cross-drilled rotors are good if you are actually racing not just drag racing.

That engine has all the power you need, just get a laptop and a plug into the ECU, and a programmable ECU, and you will be able to tune your boost/mix/timing for the conditions (temp and altitude) that you are racing in.

The only shortcoming of that car is that it is a little heavy, so anything you can do to reduce weight will help.

Congratulation on getting a modern classic. The MkIV Supra is a truly incredible car. It is very strong, you can really go nuts with it.

Muncle Tom "that car also weighs alot almost twice as much as a honda civic"

That's comparing an GTO to a Grand Am, an E55 AMG to c230, a GT500 to a Focus. That aint even the same fvcking sport.

1st up grade fro strret racing would be put a roll cage in it.

110 octane racing fuel most speed shops
but if it has catalytic converters and oxygen sensors you will ruin them because there is lead in most racing fuels
so maybe 91 octane like chevron and some octane boost
open exhaust and intake

standard unleaded is the easiest to get, some 76 stations even carry,100 octane, for about 5 bucks a gallon, thats yur best "simple"solution..............supra are rear wheel drive, i always suggest an up grade in these areas;tires,traction,shocks/struts,maybe posi;try getting wider tires in the rear.......have fun,be carful
