why do most americans continue to call american "football" football, use very fairly use ur feet?, how stupid!

all i ask is for 1 just 1 GOOD reason y use deser to use the ford football over every one else in the world, r use that stupid. use very rearly kick the ball, where as real football or "soccer " to use american "dudes" we kick the ball most of the time and very rairly are alowed to handle the ball, so please explane?????????

i play football, real footbal, but more people watch my kinda football, so ur rong there, u understood the question enuf to anser it, we dont just kick the ball tho, id recomend it be call pussyrugby, big gay guys runnin round in tight and big pads, wot a bunch of panseys, everyone of use, wont even start a war urselfs, typical.

I think americans are lame, they should've called their sport "american football" soccer. It would make so much more sense.... NSL (national soccer league) instead of NFL (national football league) clearly americans wanted a "cooler" sounding name so they called their sport football. Guy 1: "Yo B, what you doin? Guy 2: "Nothin Brah Just playin MADDEN FOOTBALL on my 360" Guy 1: "That's Sweet, football is the greatest sport and the best thing is, it's an american sport!" you want one good reason we 'deser' to use the 'ford' football? here's one. we run this planet, and we'll call our favorite sport whatever we want to call it. we've been calling it football for 140 years and we're going to keep calling it football. if you want to call it something else, fine, knock yourself out. call it whatever you want, but here in america, football will always be football, and soccer will always be soccer.

first of all, how did you ever figure out how to work a computer, Christ you can hardly spell.

I think that it is nice that you play sports, but taking a break from cabbage picking and getting a pick up game of soccer going does not constitute playing sports.

second, in many countries in Latin America and other places soccer is referred to as Futbol, not Football.

and lastly, if you do not like the sport don't watch it, there are plenty of channels that carry your brand of football so that you do not have to bother us. If you can not find them you are more than welcome to leave this country and go back to where you came from and enjoy the sport.

We can call it whatever we want........Football is the best sport in the world....And it takes so much more skill to play the game. Some of the ways the wideouts catch the ball is flat out amazng. And football players aren't gay they are some of the toughest athletes out there probably along with bullriders. Much better than your wimpy little soccer players....Football players are real men.....and learn to spell.

I agree with the earlier post...call it kickball then...The NFL is by far the best managed, best produced, mostly competitive and entertaining professional sports league in the world. The game it self is by far the ultimate in modern competition...true warriors competing in a brutal game of skill and violence...every play the players put them self in a collision equivalent to a car wreck.

and i haven't even mentioned the glory of the college game...

soccer is played in shorts...by skinny little people...who kick the ball around for hours...and score once. The entire World Cup, 100's of games, and it all boils down to one Head butt by a bitter old Frenchman.

It's called football cause we say so...the 2million plus NFL fans.

You use your feet to run which is what you do when you catch the ball or when its handed to you so football is logical. You should chance the name of soccer instead, a better name would be pussyball.
