It's a supernatural thing. It's not a demand.

The book of Leviticus is the first book that really deals with worshipping God in depth. And it starts out,

"If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, you shall bring..." Leviticus 1:2.

So right off the bat, God is letting it be known that if anyone wishes to worship Him, here's how it will be done in order to be acceptable. The first part of it being acceptable is in being 100% of one's own volition.

In the New Testament, Jesus says that those who worship the Father will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. When it talks about bringing offerings, which is clearly a part of worshipping God, it says, "Every man, according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give - not grudgingly or of necessity (coercion or compulsion); for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7.

God knows that the only way to be cheerful about giving is when it's 100% freewill, not on demand. When it's an overwhelming desire of the heart to give, this is the only kind of worship that God will accept. Anything else is a waste of one's time and resources.

This is part of the same question I've been trying to get answers for, for weeks. I still haven't gotten a good answer. Therefore, I am not any closer to understanding some people's perception of God. I can't imagine a God who was omnicient, omnipresent, and omnipotent would demand anything from mortal men. There is an error in that logic from my perspective.

Either love the Lord your God with all of your heart or be separated from Him for all eternity. That's pretty much what He says alright. And no, I wouldn't demand that my children worship ME, but I would hope and pray that they would worship the Creator of this universe who is perfect and who alone is worthy or all praise and worship.

I get surprised when I read questions like yours because it seems like these types of questions really show an ignorance of the difference between God and men. Men are imperfect creatures who will have to give an account to the Creator one day. God is perfect and He doesn't have to explain anything to the beings that He has made. It's like this passage from the Bible.

Romans 9:20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?" 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honored use and another for dishonorable use? 22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory-- 24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

He doesnt demand you worship him. However if you realize that we all deserve to be thrown into hell for all eternity. And in his love he decided to save us from this horrible destruction, and give us a chance to escape through the blood of Christ. Then we are filled with gladness and choose to worship him. Since he is worthy. God will cast anyone without Christ into hell without mercy, and he will do it easily. Everyone should fear God, and Christians know that, and they worship him, because of the infinite punishment they are freed from.

Wait, could you please inform me where it says or where you have heared that God demands worship. It's your own will to follow God and without him there is nothing to truly live for. The only thing close to it is a warning that if you don't worship and don't try to reconcile your relationship with Him then you will be goin to Hell.

He is demanding that you DON'T worship anything as being above Him. Since He is our creator and the source of all good things, He deserves the honor and glory.

The fact is, those who know Him will love, honor , obey and worship Him because it it the best way for us to go.

God doesn't demand anyone to worship him. He gives you commands and a choice whether or not to follow that command .
If you do you will recieve a reward, if you don't you will recieve a reward[ it just might not be the kind of reward you want.]Just like if your parents told you to go to bed. Thats a command but they are giving you a choice because even though they tell you that you choose if your going to listen. If you do there will be no consequences,if you don't there will. P.s that was just an example please obey your parents. Hope i helped.

The God that I know does not demand anything. He Loves us and hopes that we will want to have a relationship with Him. He waits patiently for us. He never forces Himself on us or demands anything. Only a false God would do that. Do you know of one?

What happens is a natural falling away from Him, which:
a. leads to poor choices.
b. makes a distance between you and God (when Adam and Eve hid in the garden, God came seeking them. He knew where they were all along, but wanted them to seek Him).
c. leads to a life apart from God, which is what you choose to do.

Hiding from God is really a way of denying our sins. We fear God when we have unconfessed sins and things we fear we would have to give up if we wish to be close to Him.

God seeks to fellowship with you!
It is up to you to accept and seek Him.
