My mother in law borrowed 400.00 way back in August, promising to return it in September. Well, she didnt. I got married in October, and she didnt even give us a card. My hubby has brought it up to her, and she just changes the subject. I am becoming angry with her, she has not even offered a small payment, or apology. What should I do? Confront her, or just let it go, and never loan her money again?

Never, never, never..........loan money.....especially in large amounts ....to anyone not unless you really really know them.

I would keep on confronting her....or make up some type of repayment plan to where she can pay it all back. If she can't do that, then have her do some work that you need done (for the next several months) till you feel it's completely paid off.....if she can't do it any other way. I've learned..........I'm out over 10,000.00 dollars! and I will never again.....listen to anyone's tale again. If they need help, .....I will do it my way or no way!

What Jesus said;

Luke 6:34
And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full.

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

The Lord's Prayer,

Matthew 6:12
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

In the lords prayer there is an answer to most anything!

lesson learned sometimes family are the worse people to let borrow money because somewhere in their mind they think they don't have to pay it back. tell her the holidays are coming up and you could use that money right now.
