My mom came to visit me for three weeks and she is acting strange. She doesn't remember things she should. She says her primary doc rushes her out of the office, and prescribed her Zoloft to help with her not sleeping. Obviously, she needs to see another doctor, but should I take her to one specializing in Geriatrics or Neurology?

I think she needs to find another primary doc. Not all docs are like the one you mentioned, there are some very caring ones out there. If your mom is having problems, a good primary doc could refer her to the proper type of doctor. By the way, Zoloft is an anti-depressant.

I always favor alternative therapy over conventional medical practice. All an M.D. will ever do is prescribe chemical drugs which are toxic to our body, and do nothing but suppress symptoms. Drugs do nothing to treat any underlying cause of any malady. The entire medical system is designed to make doctors rich, and the pharmaceutical companies super rich, while keeping patients sickly, weak, and drug dependent.
