Is it really illegal to protect your girlfriend if someone tried to abuse because someone was trying to hurt my girlfriend and i just started going out with but that's not my point my point is i sent the guy to the hospital is that illegal because alot of people is saying that it's illegal for me to send someone to a hospital under any condition.

I don't think that it's illegal if you're doing it for self defense or other people's defense.

Did this guy start a fight with you? You can defend yourself only using the necessary force to protect your body from harm. Depending on the state that you live in when someone starts a fight you must first try to retreat. Go to the police and tell me that this guy started a fight with you and that you were assaulted and doing the assault you injured the person. Let them get your side of the story first.

yup it is, thats why the police are there, let them deal with it. ur purpose is to protect her by getting her away from the abuser, if he attacks give i him a hit enough for u all to get away not send him to the hospital

If you can demonstrate that it was done defensively, you might get off. That's pretty hard to do, though. If you can also prove that he was trying to hurt your girlfriend, he could end up charged with aggravated assault.

Im not sure, it depends on what he did compared to what you did.

You had a right to defend your girlfriend in self -defense you were trying to protect her. But you may have overdone it.

If you were really trying to protect her I would say no. But just relize your gonna be in some trouble.

i tink wat u did was not right but in a way a good thing if another guy was tryin to hurt her and she culdnt protect herself then yes although if he touched her in neway he culd've gone straight to jail and he wuldnt of been out of ur life and now he jus might be in it alot longer

its assult h could press charges but if he was hurting your gf she could also press charges against him so its a complicated situation but yes it is illegal to assult someone
