If you're taking steriods to treat allergies or inflammation you're not supposed to drink alcohol.
There are various pscyhiatric medications that are dangerous to mix with alcohol, but I think that comes out worse that telling them you're pregnant :)
I think there's a metabolic disorder that would prevent drinking alcohol, but you wouldn't recover from it in nine months, and you'd have had it your whole life.
You can say you have to drive, but assuming you're over the legal drinking age, you're not going to be over the limit with just one drink, and everyone knows that.
You also aren't supposed to mix alcohol with Tylenol, or, as you mentioned, antibiotics, but either one of those would be fine with just one drink at a party. So I'd go with the steroids.
Alternatively, you could just say that you have an upset stomach or something and don't feel like drinking.
Thanks for not drinking while pregant! :)

you have MADD to thank for this. The criminal eating age was 18, 19, or different a while in some states. Then approximately 20 or 25 years in the past, whilst inebriated utilising have been given to be the huge difficulty, the federal government threatened to do away with highway money from those states that did no longer enhance the eating age to 21. I agree that it particularly is style of ridiculous which you're able to do enormously plenty something at 18 different than drink alcohol. even though it does make some experience to have the age a similar in all states, so which you will no longer have childrens utilising for the period of state lines to get alcohol.

Tell them that you are on medication for a minor inner ear infection and drinking is forbidden (actually this is true with many medications)....if pressed for the actual diagnosis....Otitis media. I live in China and drinking at dinners is common (horrible Chinese whisky) and I always have the waitress dummy my glass with water (the whisky is colorless) and in place of wine, the waitress uses grape juice...It doesn't work for my Chinese friends who become scarlet in the face if they even taste alcohol....so I say 哈哈哈哈 (hahaha and go home sober)

Make a bet with someone (anyone) that you won't drink at the office Christmas party and when they ask why you're not drinking, you tell them about the bet.

Just tell them that you are being tested for diabetes or high blood pressure. Both of which you cannot drink before hand. I know for a fact that when being tested for these things you cannot have aclohol in your system for up to three day prior.

Hi...congratulations!! You can either say you are taking medication for some slight cold or something, or like I have done, you can order just a soda, put a stir straw in it. They will never know, unless YOU say something. Good luck!

just tell them that you promised someone that you wouldn't drink...I mean pretty much any liver disease could get you out of it...but I think if you just say that you made a promise not to that when they find out they will think a lot higher of you than if you lie to them about a disease.
