The one's you get from your dentist where they make a mold of your teeth and you wear them at night work really good. The disadvantages are they may make your teeth sensitive if you overuse them. But them you can just stop using it for a while and your teeth become normal again. Don't buy Crest Whitestrips, they are horible to apply, they keep on slipping and I never noticed much difference with them.
The Laser Whitening is the best, but it is expensive and can burn your gums if they don't aim the laser properly. But it was amazing how white they can get the teeth. It doesn't last that long though if you drink pop and coffee.

As a dental assistant, patience usually ask us that question. What I usually recommend, (I have done it on myself as well). 1. If you are not looking to spend $300- $500 going to a dental office, you should go in for you 6 month regular cleaning. Let the hygenis know that you will be using a home whitening kit. When you get home you should look to a product as crest, cologate, prosmile, gosmile etc. use it twice a day regularly, no coffee or teeth or anything that can stain your teeth. Aslo I strongly recommend that you do get the listerine Pre-Brush. Use this as directed ( use before brushing your teeth in the morning) See link below. This worked for me. 2. Sometimes home kits does not work well for some people. I recommend that after you have tried another home kit brand and really made an effort, Go see your dentist. There is 2 types that they have. One is that they have a laser treatment that is only 1 day and your teeth will be so bright that it would last for aleast 1 year. ( but there is a chance of you being sensetive for a few days to cold and air ) Then the second option that they recommend is that they have a home kit that is about $300 that they make a month piece for you. You are able to do this treatment on your own time and it's just like the crest except that it was made for your month only and it has a more lastng effect than the crest or any other brand. As long as you stick to any product it will work.

I had a mould made at the dentists` it consists of two pieces of plastic the shape of my upper and lower teeth. Also I have four phials of 16% hyd.peroxide, the phials are attached to hypodermics. I put one drop of the solution in each `tooth space`in the plastic mould cap, and place it over my teeth. I leave it for about two hours. I have enough solution for about four weeks, but even coffee stained teeth should only take about two weeks to whiten doing it two hours each day. The cost ( including 24/7 care from the dentist should I need it ) was £250.00. This is I believe the safest way to do it.

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural
tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries
but certain precautions have to be taken.

they bleach your teeth- if you have badly stained teeth from smoking and drinking coffee and too much tea then it would help to make them brighter- but the formula makes them porous to take the bleach on. It makes them sensitive- you shouldn't over use them- if you can help it you shouldn't use them at all.
