I just asked this question directed at everyone, and only Christians and a few others who didn't follow a stated religion answered. The other part of the question is: In a peaceful world, is there room for people of other faiths to co-exist with you, provided they respect your faith? Would you then respect theirs?

Just to clarify a couple of points here, I'm not trying to put Muslims down. If you read my question you would see that I am addressing this to Muslims because when I asked the question to a general audience, no Muslims answered and I wanted to hear your viewpoint.
Second point: all this scripture is not helping any. Translation please.
Third point: to the person who stated that Muslims aren't permitted to insult Jesus - aren't you insulting him by denying that he is the son of God since this is what he claims, and what his followers claim?
And for the record: I'm not a Christian or a Muslim.
I'm interested in this "Golden Age" of Islam. Please tell me more and how can we achieve this today?

Hey, I love your question!

I'm not really sure what you mean by "what would it take for peace to break out", but I'll assume you mean peace to break out for the Muslims and the rest of the world. I'm a Muslim, and I myself am at peace with everyone else. I think that for peace to break out, a lot of those extremist Muslims out there should retreat back to the basic fundamentals of Islam and make peace with everyone instead of making up extremist ideas and beliefs and convincing the American public to perceive the wrong ideology of Islam.

For the other part of your question, if anyone respected my faith in Islam, I would respect theirs. If they didn't respect my faith, I wouldn't respect them, but I would respect their religion as a whole. I have no problem what-so-ever living with Christians and Jews, and people of other faiths. I see them everyday and I have more non-Muslim friends than Muslim friends.

To show how much I'm at ease with co-existing with anyone of any faith, despite me being a Muslim, I made my avatar wear a Christmas hat!! lol I think it looks pretty cool! :)

Good question ....

I don't know what faith you are talking about ,i can challenge you no Muslim is a Muslim if he insults Jesus ,we Muslim believe Jesus was the mightiest messenger of God ......
Divisions come here when Christians say he is the son of God ,
we Muslims take strong exceptions for that.

Jesus's name is mentioned in the Quran 10 times more than prophet Mohammed's name ,please read the Quran once for your misconceptions ,then you will find the truth .

The religion may have nothing to do with it; it's the people within the religion.
At the end of time, warlike fanatics from all faiths will grow tired of their stupidity, lay down their arms and submit to the true God who made the universe. Then, religion will disappear..and Christians, Jews and Muslims will live in peace.
People of faith only war and quarrel when they do not know who God is and what he wishes of us. God only wishes us to care for each other...that's all.

As a Christian in the USA, all it would take for peace to break out is for normal Muslims to take care of their own garbage. Good Muslims have to stand up to radicals and do something about terrorist groups/governments in the Islamic world.

The mid-east and Muslim nations need to care more about giving their kids a better future than killing infidels and Jews.

I have no problem with other religions, but I have a BIG problem with people of other religions wanting to kill me.

On the Day of Judgment

[41:29] Those who disbelieved will say, "Our Lord, show us those among the two kinds - jinns and humans - who misled us, so we can trample them under our feet, and render them the lowliest."

Perfect Happiness: Now and Forever

[41:30] Those who proclaim: "Our Lord is GOD," then lead a righteous life, the angels descend upon them: "You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve. Rejoice in the good news that Paradise has been reserved for you.

[41:31] "We are your allies in this life, and in the Hereafter. You will have in it anything you wish for; you will have anything you want.

[41:32] "(Such is your) ultimate abode, from a Forgiver, Most Merciful."

Submitters

[41:33] Who can utter better words than one who invites to GOD, works righteousness, and says, "I am one of the submitters"?

[41:34] Not equal is the good response and the bad response. You shall resort to the nicest possible response. Thus, the one who used to be your enemy, may become your best friend.

[41:35] None can attain this except those who steadfastly persevere. None can attain this except those who are extremely fortunate.

Do Not Follow Your Parents' Religion Blindly
http://www.submission.org/suras/sura5.ht...
[5:104] When they are told, "Come to what GOD has revealed, and to the messenger," they say, "What we found our parents doing is sufficient for us." What if their parents knew nothing, and were not guided?

[5:105] O you who believe, you should worry only about your own necks. If the others go astray, they cannot hurt you, as long as you are guided. To GOD is your ultimate destiny, all of you, then He will inform you of everything you had done.

No Compulsion in Religion

[2:256] There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient
[2:257] GOD is Lord of those who believe; He leads them out of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are their idols; they lead them out of the light into darkness - these will be the dwellers of Hell; they abide in it forever.

1.) EDUCATION AND CHECK AND BALANCES.

2.) YES, we follow the example of Prophet Muhammad, and he made a treaty between the Christians and Jewish Believers in Medina. In the Muslim Golden Era Chritians, Muslims, and Jewish Believers were researching and learning tougether. Those were peaceful times, the world became a Globe of Learning.

the return of Jesus Christ (pbuh) he will bring peace to the world by God's permission.

we are commanded to respect other people's religion and as you see us here we NEVER insult any body's religion. we try to stay patient with those who insult ours. what else can we do?! the problem isn't with Muslims.

go on ANY Evangelical pastor web page and see what they have to say about Islam. see the size of the pathetic propaganda and straight up Lies about Islam done by Christians.
it's obvious that Christians are the ones with tolerance problems and not the Muslims.

I would argue that for peace to break out it would first
have to find the violent extermist has no more say in that culture.

To accomplish what most want to accomplish anything short of
a bloodbath is unacceptable.

[2.190] And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.

[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.

[2.192] But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[2.193] And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

[2.211] Ask the Israelites how many a clear sign have We given them; and whoever changes the favor of Allah after it has come to him, then surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil).

[3.28] Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.

[3.29] Say: Whether you hide what is in your hearts or manifest it, Allah knows it, and He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and Allah has power over all things.

[3.30] On the day that every soul shall find present what it has done of good and what it has done of evil, it shall wish that between it and that (evil) there were a long duration of time; and Allah makes you to be cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and Allah is Compassionate to the servants.

[3.31] Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, MercifuL

[3.32] Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.

[3.72] And a party of the followers of the Book say: Avow belief in that which has been revealed to those who believe, in the first part of the day, and disbelieve at the end of it, perhaps they go back on their religion.

[3.73] And do not believe but in him who follows your religion. Say: Surely the (true) guidance is the guidance of Allah-- that one may be given (by Him) the like of what you were given; or they would contend with you by an argument before your Lord. Say: Surely grace is in the hand of Allah, He gives it to whom He pleases; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.

[3.118] O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people; they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand.
