I know I have post nasal drip, been a problem for about a year now, but I got a cold at the beginning of september and I can't seem to shake it. I am still a little stuffed up, have lots of mucus in my throat and am always having to clear it, and now for about a week, my throat feels irritated and I am finding it a little difficult to swallow at times. What the hell is wrong with me. I do smoke by the way, but not for long, I think this has given me enough reason to quit..

I know I said I had a cold, but it has been three months since I got it and I think it's something else now. A cold should never last this long.

I get sinus infections alot w/ my allergies. I suffer from Post Nasal drip, the best thing i found to relieve it is Sine-Off, it works the best and is the only medicine known to say it relieve post nasal drip right on the label.

You can find it at family dollar and other stores. i have provided a link to make it easier to locate for you.

also you can use vapo-rub from vicks. either put some on your neck and chest or fill a sink with steamy hot water and put a heaping tablespoon in the water to melt and hold your head above the water to inhale the vapors with a towel tented over you to keep in the heat and vapors. that also helps alot. I use the generic version its the same thing and alot cheaper. works just as great.

Besides using some over-the-counter drugs to alleviate the post-nasal drip, I suggest also adding some Echinacea to your regime, as soon as you experience symptoms. I take two capsules (about 500 mg) three times a day, and that has helped to arrest any further infection into the lungs. It supports the immune system. However, you have to stop using as soon as the symptoms go away; otherwise your body builds up an immunity to it.

Try mucinex to clear up the post nasal drip. It really dries it up. Sometimes it dries it up too much so you may wanna get a moisturizing nasal spray in case it dries up and hurts to breathe. I would try zicam for the cold symptoms. Trust me, those two things are great! Also, you may wanna add an antioxidant to your vitamins (if you take any) to help build up your immune system.

Get a professional opinion, go see a doctor. It could be anything. Good Luck!
